During Term 1 2015, the following Community Learning Projects (CLP) related to their home communities will be undertaken by each of the School Teams:

SCHOOL TEAM CLP TITLE MOTTO, VALUE & VISION
Lara Secondary College Saving Sandi’s Sanctuary.

Help us, Help her, Help them.

“Why is this project important to us?”
Because Sandi does great things for our community and never gets noticed.

Our Teams Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
To raise money and awareness for Sandi’s welfare/shelter with the help of the men’s shed.

Bellarine Secondary College Operation Animal Rescue

Giving animals their furever home.

“Why is this project important to us?”
Our whole group loves animals and we would like to see them get the respect and proper treatment they deserve.

Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
Bellarine hopes to raise $3000. We will work with our local community, our school and of course G.A.R.S. We will be using fundraising methods as well as selling pledges.

Goroke P-12 College Health and Fitness is a Go!

MOTTO:
Do it now, because sometimes “later” becomes “never.”

“Why is this project important to us?”
We wish to show our community how to lead a healthier and happier lifestyle, and provide them with the means to do so. Because we believe that being healthy and happy is the key to having a good life-style.

Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
To promote a healthy and happy well-being within our community, and to instil this idea from young children to adults.

Bentleigh Secondary College Acknowledge the traditional owners of this land.

MOTTO:
Recognise them.
Respect them.
Acknowledge them.

“Why is this project important to us?”
This project is important to us because they were original Australians (traditional owners of our land) and they deserve to be treated like people not animals. Because in our constitution they fall under the bracket of fauna.

Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
Our team’s vision is to raise awareness for indigenous and Torres strait islanders right to be included in Australia’s constitution as people not fauna. The steps we will take are getting involved with the recognise organisation. We will then find out more about the traditional owners of the land that Bentleigh was built on. Next we shall promote the aboriginal rights to our community. We will then try and build an indigenous totem pole and boomerang bench. We will try and initiate an exchange program.

Brighton Secondary College Let’s Get Social!

MOTTO:
Be a leader, not a boss

“Why is this project important to us?”
This project is important to us because we want to get rid of antisocial behaviour, and teach the local year 6’s about communication.

Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
We will visit 3 local primary schools (Gardenvale, Bentleigh West and Hampton) and spend time with the year 6’s. We will complete games with them to help them be sociable with others, especially in their first year of high school.

Mentone Girls’ Secondary College Without a screen

Elizabeth Murdoch College Being Different is Okay

MOTTO:
Be who YOU ARE and be WHO YOU want to be, BE.U.TIFUL

“Why is this project important to us?”
We want people who are being forced or made to feel like being different is a bad or wrong thing to be able to feel confident with themselves and their appearance. We believe that “Being Different Is Okay”.

Our Team's Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
We aim to bring people who are confident about their sexuality and the person they are or want to be to come in and talk freely to inspire an audience at a school or a public area or place.

Western Heights College A Day To Remember!

MOTTO:
Have a Fully Sick Day

“Why is this project important to us?”
This is important to us because we have all had personal experiences or family who have been in the children’s ward and we’d like to brighten up their day.

Our Teams Vision and the Actions We Will Take:
We’d like to provide entertainment, care packages, and celebrity visits so that so that the kids can look forward to something exciting rather than something negative.
